The Netflix docuseries ‘Drive to Survive‘ was first released in 2019 focusing on the 2018 F1 season. The show has taken the F1 paddock by storm and attracted millions of new fans to the sport. However, it appears that Netflix will not be covering Max Verstappen‘s record-breaking 2023 title campaign in the sixth season of the popular series.

Drive to Survive’s sixth iteration will focus on the 2023 F1 season and will be released on February 23. Now, the descriptions of all ten episodes have been released by Netflix, who will be covering major events of last season. These include Lewis Hamilton‘s Mercedes contract extension and Nyck de Vries’s exit mid-season but Max Verstappen and Red Bull were absent from this list.

Previously, Verstappen had admitted that he was not fond of Drive to Survive and had not watched a single episode of the Netflix show. It seems that Max Verstappen has continued to not indulge in the series. The 26-year-old was not featured in the first teaser of DTS season six as well and it seems that there was no episode dedicated to Red Bull Racing itself this year.

Fans not happy with Max Verstappen’s absence on Drive to Survive

Fans on X were quick to share their views regarding Verstappen’s absence. One user mentioned that the streaming giant simply did not care about keeping the Dutchman on the show. The user wrote, “They really said f**k Max Verstappen.” Another fan had a similar opinion as they expressed their surprise over the same. The fan stated, “damn… netflix really said “fuck red bull” cause omg.”

However, one fan was furious to see that Netflix did not cover Max Verstappen’s dominant campaign. The fan commented, “No episode at all about Red Bull and Max despite their record-breaking season??? What the hell Netflix.” While another user claimed that this show should be canceled entirely after the upcoming 2024 F1 season. The user said, “This series needs to be canceled after 2024.”

Max Verstappen’s absence on Drive to Survive would be a major blow to the series as he had a historic campaign last season that grabbed the attention of fans. As such, viewers would sorely miss the three-time world champion’s presence in the upcoming season.
