When it comes to two-time F1 Champion Max Verstappen, people might find it hard to believe but the roaring Dutchman has a soft spot for his pet cats. During one of this recent Twitch streams, he delved into a story of that one time when he went to great lengths to rescue one of his cats who was stuck in the closet.
It is quite a known fact that Lewis Hamilton has a pet dog named Roscoe who features in the Briton’s Instagram posts very often. But fans know very little about Max Verstappen’s pet cats. Now, the Red Bull driver has revealed there was a time when one of them got stuck behind a closet and the current Championship leader had to devise all sorts of methods to rescue it. In the process, Max hammered a hole into the closet door as he saw no other way to reach his pet.
While speaking about the incident involving his cat, Max Verstappen even talked about how he almost hurt his shoulder trying to get the closet door to budge. He said, “The cat must have been so scared, though, with all that noise in the dark. I almost broke my shoulder trying to go through the door – it didn’t really work out.” The video of Max narrating the event has gone viral on Twitter, and fans have commented on it with some hilarious reactions.

As the F1 world is enjoying a week’s break after the Miami GP, Max Verstappen has turned to Twitch to stream his gameplay for the virtual 24 Hours of Nürburgring. During the stream, he started talking about a crazy rescue story where he almost fractured his shoulder trying to save his cat. He said, “I lost one cat for like three or four hours, I didn’t know where it was. I was walking around and suddenly the cat starts meowing behind a door.”
Max continued, “It was a little closet room so it’s only a one-way entrance. The door was completely blocked because the cat had pushed the bed down. There was no way to open the door. I tried everything so I had to make a lovely hole in the door with a hammer!“
