Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso a right there in the mix when it comes to being one of the oldest personalities on the 2023 F1 grid. However, that hasn’t stopped them from performing at the highest level possible. Yesterday’s Bahrain GP was an event that had been sought after by many for months. Without a doubt, the race surely delivered with all the action that took place.

After pre-season testing concluded in Bahrain, it seemed evident to many that Red Bull and Max Verstappen were the ones to beat. Although, all eyes in the paddock were also focused on Fernando Alonso and Aston Martin. The British team seemed to have gone in the right direction when it comes to developing the car for 2023. The results itself speak for them when it comes to deciphering their performance.

In the race itself Max Verstappen went on to finish P1 while his teammate Sergio Perez finished P2. Apart from that, the final position on the podium was taken by Fernando Alonso, who achieve this feat in his first race with Aston Martin. Later on in the press conference for the podium finishers, Perez went on to take a shot on the P3 finisher while saying that all Red Bull cars were on the podium.

While it was all good banter, it seems like Aston Martin have finally made their intentions clear about this season. Having poached employees from Red Bull which include Dan Fallows, it seems like they haven’t forgotten anything about their time at Milton Keynes. Nevertheless, Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso are looking strong for the 2023 season. They might even be able to challenge for P2 in the championship.
