Lando Norris, the McLaren driver, was seen punching the wall out of frustration during the pre-season testing. This was revealed by Will Buxton, the British Formula One reporter for Liberty Media. The McLaren team, especially Lando Norris, repeatedly stated they had set realistic exceptions for the 2023 season.
However, one would think these are mere words, and they might start on the right foot. But, this was not the case. It was not a good test for McLaren. The drivers, Lando Norris and Formula One rookie, Oscar Piastri, looked uncomfortable on the track. During their car launch, the team stated they were not entirely happy with the MCL60.
McLaren’s pace during the pre-season testing was unimpressive. All this explains why Lando Norris took his anger out on the wall. It was a light flimsy wall, as per Will Buxton’s observation. He also confessed that this was unlike Norris. McLaren missed its development targets, according to the reports. They need weeks before they can sort this out.

Lando Norris’ fans think that he is wasting his time with McLaren
Norris’ behavior led to an outburst of reactions on Twitter. His fans are annoyed with the trust he places in his team. McLaren did not have a good start to the 2022 season, well. They had issues during the pre-season testing. However, they were the only team apart from Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari to get on the podium. Lando Norris finished third at Imola last season. Stepping into the 2023 season on a back foot, the team is unlikely to get on the podium again unless they fix their car and improve the pace.
Formula One has passionate fans, just like the other sports. The fans are begging Lando Norris to save his future and sign with another team, particularly Red Bull. They argue that McLaren has not given him a car worthy of a championship. Norris has a long-term contract with McLaren, until the end of 2025. He stated earlier that the goal is to be the leading midfield team this season, and they want to be able to close the gap with the front runners by 2024.
