The 2023 Formula 1 season is into the last race of the campaign at the Abu Dhabi GP weekend. While the event is making immense noise for the on-track action, it has also come under the limelight for what has been happening in its famous pit lane. Max Verstappen during yesterday’s FP2 session overtook a few cars in the pit lane in a dangerous fashion.
Since the incident, the FIA has delved into it and has made it known that they are not going to allow overtaking in the pitlane for the remainder of the Abu Dhabi GP weekend. Since the reveal of this news, things have gone a bit haywire in the F1 paddock as well as in the conscience of the fans.
The fans of the pinnacle of motor racing are having a hard time wrapping their heads around the FIA’s decision and in order to let their feelings known, have gone onto X to share their opinions. Some of the fan’s reactions are quite extreme, to say the least.
Fans reactions to FIA’s rule change

Another rule change caused by max. What was amazing was his awareness of the width of the car to not hit anyone. Shame 2021 it was a different story!

Get ready for max to be first out the pit lane and crawl out of the pit exit in q3 ???? I can't wait for everyone to be crying

Yep Max may as well have a seat at the FIA office next to the president

Max Verstappen has not been having the best of times in Abu Dhabi
While Max Verstappen’s pit-lane antics have caused a bit of an uproar among the F1 fans, he’s not had the smoothest of outings during the ongoing weekend. He has been suffering with one issue or the other on his RB19 and thus has not been able to set the timing sheets alight.
During the recently concluded FP3 session, he was struggling with the balance of the RB19 and was seen yanking toward his team over the team radio. Verstappen despite his best efforts, was only able to manage a disappointing sixth-place finish at the end of FP3.

These are ominous signs for the Dutchman ahead of qualifying and considering how well the light of George Russell, and the two McLarens have performed, the upcoming qualifying session could turn out to be a bitter pill to swallow for the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen.
