The 2024 Formula 1 season is just under a month away and the silly season saga continues. Hence, the teams are engaging in PR activities alongside their drivers to create more excitement for the upcoming season. However, with Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari, multiple fans noticed the lack of presence of Hamilton in Mercedes’ social media posts.
Lewis Hamilton sealed his move to Ferrari before the commencement of the 2024 season. This news was termed as the biggest sporting event in a very long time. Hence, as the seven-time world champion prepares for shifting to the Italian constructor, the 2024 season will see the Briton be a Mercedes driver for one last time. Expectedly, Brackley might not be thrilled with this shocking switch.
Amidst this, Mercedes’ made multiple social media posts over X and Instagram including George Russell. Hamilton is nowhere to be seen in the posts made by Brackley on respective sites. The reason for this could also be the lack of interest in this for the seven-time world champion. The recent post by Mercedes contains the 25-year-old on a call and the image captioned about the W15 challenger’s launch date.
When you realise the W15 launch is next week.Russell on a Mercedes’X post.
Fans were not too happy with Lewis Hamilton’s absence on Mercedes’ social media
Lewis Hamilton is an iconic face in Formula 1 and is widely known for his racing skills. However, Mercedes chose to not include the driver in posts despite his widespread popularity outside the sport. Hence, this agitated Hamilton’s fans and sparked a reaction from them in a recent tweet on X. One fan added that the absence showcased the ‘priorities’ for Mercedes which clearly wasn’t the soon-to-be former Mercedes driver.
Another fan added that Mercedes was acting like ‘Lewis already left’ despite the move still being one season away. One fan mentioned that they had unfollowed Brackley’s page after seeing the absence of Hamilton in social media posts. Some fans added that the posts including Russell were ‘forced and pathetic’ and weren’t exactly needed for the team.
The fact the pretty much every post since Lewis’s announcement (and before tbh) has only featured George — the season hasn’t even started and we’re seeing where their priorities stand lol https://t.co/ksKttXVEUY
