Drugovich acknowledged Hamilton’s popularity in his home country during the Brazilian Grand Prix but questioned the authenticity of the seven-time World Champion’s connection with the country.

That's exactly what doesn't convince me. I have nothing against him. Only now I have had more contact with Verstappen. He is a super nice guy, he is a really good guy, very attentive, [and] accessible.

The young driver’s comments triggered significant backlash within Hamilton’s admirers, with fans criticizing him for being “out of his depth” and suggesting that his remarks were rooted in jealousy toward Hamilton’s popularity in Brazil.
