Fernando Alonso took Aston Martin to their best Formula One season yet in the 2023 season. Aston Martin achieved an incredible eight podium finishes with Alonso. They also earned their best finish in the  Constructors’ Championship with fifth.

Although the team made stupendous progress in 2023 with a huge step up, competing with the frontrunners for half the season, Alonso has put forth a warning regarding future progress. The Spaniard says that to move further up the field, technological and creative innovations will be necessary, giving the Silverstone-based team an upcoming period of challenges.

The starting point is a little better than I thought, but now the real difficulty begins… Now, here comes the difficult period for Aston Martin. I think in the next two or three years, finding that extra something no one has – being creative, innovative.

Aston Martin has claimed that the Formula 1 field will begin to close up in 2024, giving more opportunities to encourage competition. With Red Bull running away with the championship this year with Max Verstappen, the rivals will be hoping to give them a run for their money in 2024 and compete for the title.
