Aston Martin had a solid start to the season but gradually lost momentum after the Canadian GP amidst massive upgrades by their rival teams. Having taken six podiums out of the initial eight races, their star driver Fernando Alonso could only manage to go as high as P5 in the last four races. After an inconsistent form display, Alonso questioned whether he could secure a win this season.
Alonso said that he, along with his team, will aim for first place in every remaining race. But, he admitted that the chances of him securing a victory in 2023 look to be very slim. However uncertain things look to be now for the Silverstone-based team, Alonso believes that Aston Martin will secure a victory sometime in the future.
I don’t think there’s a real chance of getting win number 33 this year. I believe in this team, and I think opportunities will come despite Red Bull being far ahead: there will always be a race where this could happen. I don’t know how long it will take us to win, but I think we will in the future,” Alonso was quoted by FormulaPassion.

Aston Martin to bring a new front wing in Singapore to boost their speed
Aston Martin is looking to find a way out of the shadow of their rivals’ recent upgrades. As things stand, Alonso is just one point ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the WDC standings. It has been recently reported that Aston Martin is planning on bringing a major upgrade to the AMR23 in Singapore.
Aston Martin reportedly plans to bring a reconfigured front wing to the Singapore Grand Prix. This new front wing will supposedly help the team regain the pace it has lost in its last few races. It is expected to provide more downforce to the car, which could prove to be crucial to the race, given the track’s requirements.
The Marina Bay Street Circuit is known to test drivers both physically and mentally. Being infamous for the hot and humid climate conditions while being extremely tough on the brakes, the 4.9 km track is a hard test for even the most experienced F1 drivers.
