The Asturian Driver Fernando Alonso has been in the sport for a long time. The 42-year-old debuted in Formula 1 in the 2001 Austrian GP and has been in the sport ever since, except for a short break between 2018-2021. Alonso has amassed almost 22 years in the sport and is continuing even for the next year.

The two-time world champion has not yet been satiated with his hunger for victory in the sport and hence continues to strive for the final victory before exiting. Alonso has amassed two world championships and 32 victories and 22 pole positions in his 22-year stint with F1.

The Asturian had talked about his retirement plans on multiple occasions. The ex-world champion claimed that winning was the gasoline needed for drivers to continue in motorsport. Subsequently, he talked about winning his third world championship before exiting the sport.

Alonso also partook in various forms of motorsport racing after his short exit from Formula 1 in 2018. The veteran participated in the 24 Hours of LeMans, The Indianapolis 500, and the Dakar Rally. The Spaniard talked about potentially winning the Dakar Rally after exiting F1. He claimed that the victory in the Dakar Rally would be a perfect circle for a racing driver.

When I retire from Formula 1, I would love to return to the Dakar. Winning the Dakar Rally is a clear goal in my career. It would complete me, make me happy, and I think it would leave an almost unprecedented legacy. Winning in Formula 1, in the Resistance and in the rallies would be completing the perfect circle of a racing driver

The Veteran admits to wanting to start a family after his retirement

The 42-year-old has not yet been married or started a family. Meanwhile, other drivers on the grid are announcing their kids and marriage, Alonso has yet to reveal his marital plans. Rumors keep flourishing the paddock about potential girls interested in Alonso, but there has been no formal statement from the Asturian.

Fernando Alonso admitted wanting to start a family following his retirement from F1. He exclaimed that it was something that he always dreamt of from when he was a kid. Additionally, The veteran acknowledged that his career was lengthening but still displayed faith in fulfilling his dream soon.

Alonso has been confirmed in Aston Martin’s driver’s lineup for the next season and will continue to race for the next year. The old-timer still has an amazing pace and continues to score amazing results, showcasing his extended experience in the sport.
