Mercedes has had a very disappointing start to the 2024 F1 season. Their challenger, the W15 is inconsistent everywhere and lacks the performance of other top teams. In comparison to Aston Martin, the outfit seems to be behind on several things related to the car’s performance. Both the teams look to be neck and neck, but Aston Martin currently has a more reliable car.
Amidst all this, Fernando Alonso has been rumored to be one of the top candidates to replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025, now that the Briton is moving to Ferrari. The two-time World Champion recently finished sixth in the Japanese Grand Prix and beat both the Mercedes drivers. After the event, during an interview with Sky Sports F1, the Spaniard was asked about his potential move to Mercedes and surprisingly, he had a very bold answer to it.
