Fernando Alonso, the former two-time F1 world champion, has been sparkling his magic in the sport since 2001. He had a tremendous 2023 season with Aston Martin and ahead of the upcoming campaign, he has taken the time to talk about what is needed to win races.
So far in his career, Fernando Alonso has amassed 32 Grand Prix wins and thus, knows a thing or two about winning races. He believes that to do well in F1, a driver must stay fully concentrated on the task at hand.

While shedding light on the same in a video released by Aston Martin, Alonso said, as reported by Soymotor:
To win in Formula 1 you have to be very concentrated. Hyper-concentrated. To make a difference you have to give that extra commitment, that extra determination. Hyper-concentration is undoubtedly the key word if you want to succeed in F1.
Looking at the reaction of the 42-year-old, it is quite clear that a driver is required to stay fully focused during the high-intensity Grand Prix to have a chance of doing well. He ardently feels that it is almost impossible to win if the driver does not show full commitment and determination during races.
Fernando Alonso finished the 2023 F1 season in fourth place
While Fernando Alonso has shed light on what is required to win races in F1, on a personal note, he had a very impressive 2023 season with Aston Martin. Ahead of the campaign, he jumped ship from Alpine to the Lawrence Stroll-owned team and this move proved to be nothing short of a masterstroke.

While the AMR23 had its ups and downs throughout the campaign, Alonso was able to get the best out of it on every occasion. This is the reason why Aston Martin finished fifth in the Constructors Championship, and the Spaniard, on his end, managed a brilliant fourth place with 206 points.

However, despite having a solid season, it has been over a decade since Fernando Alonso won a race in the sport. His last triumph came way back in 2013 during that year’s Spanish Grand Prix. Considering this, it will be fascinating to see whether he will be able to change it this year or not. A lot would depend on the kind of car the Silverstone-based team would be able to provide him from the Bahrain Grand Prix onward.
