Ferrari launches a new limited edition watch with Richard Mille ahead of the French GP
Ferrari and Richard Mille
Ferrari and Richard Mille together have come out to launch the thinnest watch worth a mind boggling $1,888,000 (£1,570,000) ahead of the French GP. We have seen the obsession that F1 drivers have fancy watches. Amongst all the brands, Richard Mille has stolen the maximum spotlight. The company is one of the sponsors for McLaren and Ferrari.
Richard Mille has decided to take it up a notch as it released a new limited edition watch which also happens to the world’s thinnest watch, a record once held by Italian luxury brand Bvlgari. It’s a scintillating looking titanium watch with a pretty basic dial in the middle with two sapphire crystals on either side. It’s been reported that it took almost 6000 hours of research before it was made.
Yves Mathis, production director at Richard Mille talking about this work of art said, “When we presented this watch concept to Ferrari when we met in summer 2020, we said this is a project we are starting to develop, and we think it makes real sense to do this with you.”

The company has decided to only make 150 of these, which will be another selling point. With both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz wearing it will also test the durability of this masterpiece. This launch has come ahead of the French GP. This gives Ferrari and Charles Leclerc another opportunity to celebrate after a flawless performance in Red Bull’s backyaard.
Charles Leclerc sounded a happy man after getting his third win in Austria. He said, “I definitely needed it. I mean, of course whenever I get to a new race since five races I have a smile on my face and I kept being optimistic, but obviously hard race after hard race, it just felt like everything was against me.”
“So, finally we had a breakthrough good race today and it really feels good to have a win again.”
This has turned out to be one of the perfect weekends for the Italian Giants. They would want to build on that and continue closing the gap on Red Bull and Max Verstappen.
