Ferrari set to bring in upgrades in Miami following Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s catastrophic weekend
Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz had a weekend to forget in Ferrari’s weekend. This race was set to be a sort of celebration for the Tifosi who wished either of the two drivers to win the Imola GP. But on the contrary, it was a horrible weekend for Ferrari with Carlos Sainz crashing out of the race for no fault of his own and Charles Leclerc’s costly error saw his take a 19 point hit to his lead after what has been a flawless season till now.
Ferrari would have ideally wanted to stretch their lead on the top of the constructor’s championship but that wasn’t the case. With one driver crashing out and Red Bull securing 1-2 saw their lead cut down to just 11 points. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez enjoyed a perfect weekend with everything going their way. But this was overdue as the Red Bull drivers have had their fair share of bad luck this season.
But Ferrari is the most successful team in the history of F1 and has gone through many a weekends like this. The Italian Giants would know how to react to such a weekend and get back up.
Ferrari set to make major changes after a disappointing weekend for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz
The team has been proactive ever since their loss and it has been confirmed that new upgrades are set to come in. “Ferrari WILL bring a new spec rear wing in Miami, along with the new, stronger PU2 for Charles Leclerc (Carlos Sainz already has the PU2).”
Charles Leclerc would love to have some support after that disappointing P6 finish in Ferrari’s home race. The Monegasque driver is one of the most honest drivers present in the sport and he expressed his emotions clearly after the race. He said, “I gave it all but went over the limit at the end.”
“Sorry to the team and to all the tifosi that supports us. Instead of a P3, it ended up in a P6. We’ll come back stronger.”
Let’s just hope that it was a bump in Ferrari’s quest to roll back the days and reach back to the top. What we can be assured of is that there will no lack of intent from Ferrari and that would make it a fascinating contest in Miami.
