Lewis Hamilton, the former 7-time F1 World Champion, knows a thing or two about winning Championships and has indicated that Max Verstappen’s early 2022 title triumph, at the Japanese GP is not what the fans desire.

Lewis Hamilton has congratulated Max on winning the second World Championship of his career, however, believes from the fan’s point of view, getting a Championship decided with a few races remaining is not the ideal situation for them.

The Brit, during that time, was able to breeze past the competition quite easily and thus knows how it feels to win a Championship with several races remaining on the calendar.

While Hamilton is happy with how things panned out for him during his supreme reign, he feels that it was not the most enjoyable experience for the fans to see him securing Championships with quite a few races remaining.

While talking about the same, Hamilton added, “I’ve experienced it myself a few times, for example in Mexico, for an athlete, that’s great. In the end, that’s what you do it all for, but for the fans, it’s a bit of a shame that the battle has been decided so quickly this year. You also miss the emotion. It’s just less spectacular.”

The 2022 F1 season has been decided with Max Verstappen securing his second World title in Japan and looking ahead, Lewis Hamilton has indicated he wants to see a more competitive grid next year as compared to the current campaign.

Max Verstappen has been the dominant force in 2022 and has managed to make a mockery of the competition at times during the season, thus the 37-year-old wants to see a more competitive grid in 2023.

While sharing his opinion on the same, Hamilton added, “Let’s hope it will be a bit more exciting again next year.”
