British driver Lewis Hamilton is one such driver who rose to success from humble beginnings. Apart from driving in Formula 1, the Briton is a huge advocate for women’s rights and LGBTQIA+ awareness for everyone apart from the sport. However, the former driver Perry McCarthy has called out the seven-time world champion over his career and opportunities within Formula 1.

The seven-time champion had previously bemoaned about the lack of support he received within the sport for such endeavors. Lewis Hamilton remains a staunch activist against racism and homophobia. However, in the wake of these comments, McCarthy suggested otherwise. The former driver asserted that the 39-year-old shouldn’t moan so much about the lack of support. The reason for this was that he got something that many people could simply just dream about in F1 according to the Briton. Additionally, the 62-year-old recalled the support Hamilton received from McLaren’s Ron Dennis during his junior days.

Lewis shouldn't moan so much about a lack of support, because he actually got something that a lot of people had dreamed of. Like that Ron Dennis, the head of McLaren for example, was there and believed in you.
McCarthy told essentiallysports.com.

Regardless, Hamilton stayed true to Dennis’ beliefs over him and scored amazing results and achievements in Formula 1. However, the former F1 driver asserted that the opportunity presented to the seven-time world champion is one that most F1 drivers never receive. Regardless, McCarthy renounced the fact that the Briton shouldn’t talk much about the lack of chances to him in the sport.

What Lewis did next was pay back the belief every time, because Lewis was and is brilliant. So Lewis had the opportunity and he seized that opportunity every time with everything he had. But Lewis shouldn't talk too much about a lack of chances.

Lewis Hamilton had some advice for Max Verstappen ahead of the 2024 season

The 2023 season did not provide the best rivalry action between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Partly due to the highly dominant run from the Dutchman, he was mostly untouched by any other driver in terms of pace down the season. Regardless of the lack of competition, Hamilton hasn’t yet given up on his winning chances and has given some words of advice to the reigning world champion.

The Briton urged the 26-year-old to keep doing what he did within the sport and achieve great results. Additionally, Hamilton asserted that he, alongside Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen was one of the highly ‘driven’ and motivated drivers in Formula 1. Expectedly, the highly experienced driver shares a deep sense of respect for the current dominator of the sport and thinks highly of Verstappen regardless of the on-track shenanigans.

I would say, keep doing what you're doing. He's doing great. I think not only us but all drivers in Formula One are hugely driven,
Hamilton told formule1.nl.

Mercedes has been preparing constantly for the great challenges in the coming season. Brackley needs to develop a challenger capable of fighting with the highly dominant Red Bulls in the front of the grid. Hence, the team, on multiple occasions, has talked highly about the development of the challenger and Brackley’s winning chances in the 2024 season.
