The Ferrari F1 team had a pretty up-and-down 2023 season at the pinnacle of motor racing. The outfit was seen tussling with Mercedes for second place in the Constructors and its team principal, Fred Vasseur has admitted that he is not happy.

Fred Vasseur took charge of the Maranello-based outfit just before the start of the 2023 season. He didn’t get the opportunity to make his mark on the team straight away. However, by the end of the campaign, his influence on the team was visible in the results.

Vasseur has recently taken the time to dwell on Ferrari’s season and while talking about it, he added, as reported by racingnews365:

Nobody can be happy with what we did at the beginning of the season. I am not happy with P3, this is clear - but I am more than happy with the reaction of the team and I think this feeling is the same for everybody.

Looking at the reaction of the Frenchman, it is quite clear that he was not at all pleased with the state of things at Ferrari when he joined. However, he has admitted that he is quite pleased with the solid recovery the team made during the 2023 campaign.

Would the Fred Vasseur-led Ferrari team be able to fight for the 2024 F1 title?

While Fred Vasseur has oozed a bit of confidence with how the latter half of the 2023 campaign panned out for Ferrari, the question now is whether they would be able to challenge Max Verstappen and Co. this year.

Red Bull has been performing in a league of its own under the current regulations and has so far proved too mighty for its rivals. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were nowhere near the Milton-Keynes-based team in terms of performance last year.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the upcoming campaign of the pinnacle of motor racing is going to be an extremely crucial one for Ferrari as far as their hopes of fighting for the world championship are concerned.
