Alex Albon, the 26-year-old Thai-British driver suffered a horrible weekend as he was admitted to the hospital for appendicitis surgery causing him to miss the Italian Grand Prix. Seven-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton took to Instagram to wish him a speedy recovery and hopes to see him race by the Singapore Grand Prix.

Hamilton wrote: “Get well soon, Alex. See you in Singapore”

Albon suffered a respiratory failure following his appendicitis surgery and had to spend a night in intensive care. However, he is now fine and has been shifted from the ICU ward to a normal bed and is currently undergoing recovery.

The fans have also taken to social media to express their support for Alex Albon, which goes to show how adored the 26 year old driver is by the F1 community.

Albon is currently recovering at the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza and many hope that he recovers soon so that he can take part in the Singapore Grand Prix.

Will Alex Albon be replaced by Nyck De Vries again if he is unable to recover by the Singapore Grand Prix?

The Italian Grand Prix saw Nyck de Vries replacing Alex Albon since the latter had to be admitted to the hospital to undergo an appendicitis surgery. The 27-year-old Dutchman scored points with Williams in his debut F1 race making him an instant favorite among the fans.

After it was reported that Albon suffered respiratory issues after his surgery and was placed in the intensive care unit for one night. Luckily he is out of danger at the moment and is focusing on recovering, but if he is unable to recover fast enough for the Singapore Grand Prix he could end up being replaced by De Vries again and the fans would love to see the Dutchman in action.

Alex Albon is currently 19th in the Driver Standings with a total of 4 points while his teammate Nicholas Latifi is at the 21st position having scored no points all season. Nyck De Vries is in 20th position having scored 2 points for the team on his debut race.
