Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, has dominated at the pinnacle of motor racing for the last few years. His 2023 stint was on a whole new level but despite this, Guenther Steiner has claimed that Verstappen will not win races if he drives a Haas livery.

Max Verstappen has been with Red Bull since 2016 and has year after year gone on to hone his racing skills. He has seen a massive rise in his stature as an F1 driver but Guenther Steiner firmly believes that had Verstappen ever driven a Haas, he wouldn’t be winning.

Moreover, he has even gone on to suggest that Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen would win if they had a Red Bull car underneath them. While shedding light on the same recently, the Italian-American said, as reported by Soymotor;

Even if you put Max in our car, he wouldn't win races. I think if we had a Red Bull, Nico could win races and so could Kevin.

Looking at the reaction of Steiner, it is quite clear that in F1, winning and losing ultimately comes down to the might of a team’s car. This is what the Haas boss has tried to suggest with his Max Verstappen comment. Keeping in view how the sport works, he is on point in his assessment.

Guenther Steiner has a mighty task on his hands at Haas

While Guenther Steiner has taken the time to indirectly applaud the work of Adrian Newey and Co., he has quite a few issues to deal with on his team ahead of the 2024 F1 season. Last year’s campaign ended on a disappointing note for Haas and it is up to Steiner to change the fortunes of the team.

Haas’s 2023 campaign began on a decent note as they wrapped up quite a few points and were seen around the P7-P8 mark in the Constructors standings. However, things took a wild turn during the second leg as they struggled to keep up with the lights of AlphaTauri, Williams, and, Alfa Romeo.

Under the leadership of Guenther Steiner, Haas F1 has done some wonderful things in the past, and considering this, it is going to be fascinating to see what kind of a livery they would come up with for the 2024 campaign of the pinnacle of motor racing.
