Guenther Steiner, the fiery former principal of the Haas team, is anticipated to make an unexpected comeback to the paddock as a race commentator for German broadcaster. Steiner’s transition to a commentary role is a big step in the Formula 1 considering he was sacked in the recently ended silly season. It will be interesting to see how Steiner’s relationship will be with the Haas Team during his commentator role.
Steiner fame skyrocketed after the F1 series Drive to Survive on Netflix, where his colourful language and behind-the-scenes outbursts attracted a lot of fans. In the 2024 Formula One season, Steiner will be a part of seven Grands Prix on the German broadcaster RTL. These Grand Prix he is part of are the Bahrain GP, Hungarian GP, Belgian GP, Dutch GP, Imola GP, Azerbaijan GP, and Las Vegas GP.
Now I'm really happy that I did that, because at least I know roughly what it involves because when I went to Austin last year, I had no idea how to do TV because I've never done it before. That was a good experience, it was doing something different. I think I can do a decent job.Steiner said about the new role, as reported by Autosport.
The Italian man stated that he is really happy with the new career choice. Steiner has experience as a broadcaster before as he was in the Fox Sports booth for the coverage of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Race at Texas Motor Speedway. He has learned a lot from that experience which he could implement in the new role.
What does Ayao Komatsu make of Haas, Pre-Test Practice?
According to team principal Ayao Komatsu, Haas completed pre-season testing ahead of schedule and has a vehicle that may be more competitive in races than initially anticipated. Haas has a difficult 2023, finishing last in the constructors’ championship standings.
Haas has frequently demonstrating strong pace in qualifying but having difficulty in races. Komatsu, who took over from Guenther Steiner during the off-season, had cautioned that the start of this year could be difficult before witnessing the car run, but they are now more optimistic about how the track running season has started.
Haas Formula 1 is still competing on the last of the grid. Haas are still fighting to top the grid. The last time Haas surprised everyone was by getting a pole at the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. When Kevin Magnussen defeated Max Verstappen time as the whole Formula One world was shocked. But we all have to wait for how good the 2024 season goes for Haas.
