Haas F1 team didn’t have the best of race weekends out at Singapore but that wasn’t the case according to team principal Guenther Steiner. When asked about it, he further gave a few “what if” situations that could have led to a dream weekend for the American team. Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher got tangled up in a few incidents that led to the team failing to finish in the points.

Guenther Steiner went on to say that had Magnussen not damaged his front wing on the opening lap and if Mick hadn’t entangled with George Russell, it would have been a great weekend all around for the team. Haas had some really good pace around the Marina Bay circuit, where they fared well during practice and also managed to qualify well compared to their usual positions. It was clear that the team had the pace for a double points finish.

Compared to last year, the team is in a much better place with regards to their position in the constructors’ standings, as they are placed in 8th. With AlphaTauri being level with them in the constructors, it’s a fight to the finish. With there being more monetary bonuses to the team that places higher. After a roller coaster of a Singapore GP weekend, here is what Guenther Steiner said about the team’s performance.

The Haas team boss further on went to talk about the positives of the weekend. “In my opinion, the whole race weekend was one of the best, if not the best weekend of this year,” he said. The team had no problems on Friday. During qualifying, the conditions changed which meant that they could not have done anything different or better. Overall pace wise, it was a great weekend for the team.

Kevin Magnussen finished in P12 while teammate Mick Schumacher brought the car home in P13. Although it was a pointless end to the weekend, Guenther Steiner was proud of the team’s performance even with the problems that they faced. Coming into the Japanese GP weekend, the competition between Haas, AlphaTauri, and Aston Martin will be on.
