“He didn’t interpret his own rules,” Ted Kravtiz blatantly blames Michael Masi for costing Lewis Hamilton a record eighth F1 title

It has been more than 9 months since the controversial end of the Michael Masi-led Abu Dhabi saga, but F1 analyst, Ted Kravitz’s recent comments have brought it back to life.
Last year’s battle for the F1 Championship was an epic tussle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen that reached its conclusion at the final race in Abu Dhabi.
While Max was over the moon after winning his maiden World Championship, Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, was extremely dejected as to how the Championship was decided.
Since then, a lot has been said about the controversial decisions that former F1 race director, Michael Masi made that evening, and the saga has again picked up a bit of pace as recently Ted Kravitz has blatantly put the blame on Masi for costing Hamilton his record-breaking eighth World title.

Kravitz has discussed the events of that cursed evening and has said, “Closing of the chapter of the race director Michael Masi who didn’t interpret his own rules the way they have been written, and that cost Lewis Hamilton an eighth World Championship, gave it to Max Verstappen.”

The 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is well known all over the World for two main reasons, one was that Max Verstappen won his maiden World Championship, and the other, that Michael Masi’s decision-making handed the Championship to the Dutchman by putting him in an advantageous position before the start of the final lap of the race.
Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen came to Abu Dhabi on equal points and their last showdown of 2021 had gathered a lot of interest, considering their battles prior to the final race of the season.
The excitement for the race was at an all-time high but the way the race ended, left a sour taste in the mouth of many fans all over the globe. LewisHamilton was cruising during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, however, calamity struck for the Brit when Williams driver, Nicholas Latifi crashed and brought out a safety car.

Things were going okay till a certain point during the safety car, however, the race was thrown into utter chaos when Michael Masi asked the lapped cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to overtake the safety car to set up a one-lap showdown between the two.
The controversial decision brought out a lot of angry reactions from the Mercedes camp and despite their protest, the race was given the green light for one lap of racing and Lewis Hamilton lost out on his eighth title when Max Verstappen went past him on a fresh pair of the soft tires.
