“He doesn’t fit part of our plans,” Christian Horner shuts down rumors of Fernando Alonso’s move to Red Bull
Christian Horner and Sergio Perez
Christian Horner has managed the best that sport has had to offer in Formula 1 but the one thing that makes him stand out is his faith in the youth to deliver when it matters the most. Red Bull’s team Principal has always been an admirer of the ferocity that the youth brings to the table. It’ll be safe to say that he has been returned the favor as we saw Sebastian Vettel becoming the youngest ever champion.
The German became the champion at the age of 23 and also went to win three more championships with the Milton Keynes outfit. Red Bull had to go through a slump after that as Mercedes took over. But eventually when they tasted success, it was courtesy of a youngster, Max Verstappen. The Dutchman was at the peak of his powers as he dethroned the seven time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, and took what was rightly his.
Max Verstappen was ably supported by his team mate, Sergio Perez. But this year we have seen a shift in the mentality of Sergio Perez too who outqualified Max Verstappen at the Saudi Arabia GP. The duo has been working well in tandem too which has meant that Red Bull is just 11 points behind Ferrari. Despite that, there were rumors of Fernando Alonso joining Red Bull at the end of the season.
