Mick Schumacher has been on point for the Haas Formula One team in the last two races and their Team Principal Guenther Steiner believes the upsurge in the young German’s form is down to the battle he had with Max Verstappen at Silverstone.

Mick Schumacher after coming under heavy criticism from Steiner finally scored the first points of his F1 career during his 32nd Grand Prix in Silverstone and since then has again managed to score decent points in the recently concluded Austrian Grand Prix. Now after Austria, it has been two back-to-back point finishes for Schumacher and everyone on the Haas team is happy for him.

During the Austrian Grand Prix, the 23-year-old at one stage of the event found himself in a battle with Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso and he was surprisingly able to get the better of the veteran drivers.

Mick Schumacher did not get to the best of starts during the initial phase of the 2022 season where he wrecked his car multiple times and faced a lot of criticism from up and down the paddock.

However, Mick has now started to show signs of how good a driver he really is and if he can continue his good form till the upcoming summer break, then it is going to bode well for the American team in terms of position in the Constructors Championship.

Steiner further added, “Maybe he wanted to force it earlier and now the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. Anyway, Mick is doing well at the moment.”

The Haas team is in a good place at the moment as after the Austrian extravaganza, they have leapfrogged AlphaTauri in the Constructors Championship and are now in 7th position with 34 points to its name.

Haas is the only team who has not brought upgrades so far in the season and it is believed that their upgrades are not far away. Given how well the team has performed without them, it is going to be interesting to see how the team will perform when they do get the upgrades.
