“He is very underrated,” Mike Krack stands up for Lance Stroll amid criticism
Lance Stroll
Lance Stroll made his F1 debut in 2017 during the Austrian Grand Prix, and since then, he has shown mediocre performance. He was racing for Racing Point, until the team got rebranded in 2021, to Aston Martin. Although he has managed to score podiums in tracks like Azerbaijan, a lot of people still think of him as an underperforming driver, and it is believed that the only reason he has a permanent seat in the team is because his father, Lawrence Stroll (a Canadian businessman) who is the owner of the team, and was also the owner of Racing Point, before the rebranding.

Although Stroll has performed exceptionally well on occasions, like his pole position during the Turkish Grand Prix of 2020, he is still heavily criticized as his usual performance is not up to mark, according to the fans. But Mike Krack, the team principal of Aston Martin, had the opposite to say for the Canadian.
According to him, Stroll is a very underrated driver, and the only reason he hasn’t been able to perform upto the expectations is because of the car he has been driving, which has never been a winning car until now.

Krack believes Lance Stroll is more hardworking than others
F1Fall quoted Mike Krack as he called Stroll a much more hardworking driver than others; “I think Lance is one of the drivers who is very underrated. He is much, much better than people think. He also works much harder than people think,”
“It’s easy to corner someone and say he’s there because of his father. That’s not true.”
Stroll has, until now, managed to get 3 podiums and a pole position, and while his maiden victory is still expected, it is safe to say that he would be having a seat at Aston Martin for the coming season as well.
