The Williams Formula 1 team punched above its weight during the 2023 F1 season. They were able to score twenty-eight points in the campaign to end up in a well-deserved seventh place. However, looking ahead, they have put their faith in the former Alpine stalwart, Pat Fry.

The British engineer joined Williams in November and has since been getting up to speed with everything that goes on at the Grove-based team. He has joined James Vowels and Co. as the Chief Technical Officer and Vowels firmly believes that he will play a major role in helping Williams reach their 2024 vision.

James Vowels is immensely pleased with the arrival of Pat Fry at Williams and while talking about the impact that the former Alpine man is going to have, he told Motorsport;

More so I've got Pat alongside me now. He knows how to do this, he's revered up and down the lane, ask anyone near enough and you've got a good chap in Pat. You're not going to change your chassis, but with the direction of travel we are in there are still things we can tune before we get to Bahrain.

Looking at the comments of Vowels, it is quite clear that he is banking massively on Fry’s experience to help the team as much as possible with its 2024 machinery.

Williams has a strong driver in the form of Alex Albon to lead them into the future

While James Vowels has put immense emphasis on the positive impact that Pat Fry is going to have at Williams, the team has also got a sensational driver among its ranks. Alex Albon has improved massively since returning to F1 and he is one of the main leaders on the Williams outfit.

To put things into perspective, Albon scored 27 of the 28 points that Williams was able to amass during the recent season. He was at his very best during most of the race weekends and it mainly was because of his efforts that Williams was able to keep a fast-charging AlphaTauri team at bay.

Pat Fry’s arrival has injected renewed optimism into the people working at Williams and keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, it is going to be fascinating to see what kind of a car they would be able to come up with for next year’s campaign of the pinnacle of motor racing.
