“He needs a perfect weekend,” Guenther Steiner backs Mick Schumacher to have a successful F1 season

Formula 1 has landed in the United States and is all set to unveil the Miami Grand Prix later today. It is the home race for the sole American team on the grid, Haas. The atmosphere in the team’s garage is absolutely buzzing ahead of the weekend. Haas views a driver lineup containing the German, Mick Schumacher and the Danish driver, Kevin Magnussen. The team is headed by the Netflix star, Guenther Steiner.

The 2022 season has kicked off rather well for the Haas team. The team had a massively disappointing season in 2021, where they put all their focus in the development of the 2022 car under new regulations. This trade-off has paid dividends for the American team as they stand 8th in the constructors championship having scored 15 points. Kevin Magnussen returned to Formula 1 at the start of the season and has scored all the points for the team. On the other side of the Haas garage, Mick Schumacher is yet to score his maiden Formula 1 points.

Haas Boss, Guenther Steiner Draws Comparison Between Kevin Magnussen And Mick Schumacher

In the fourth round of the 2022 season at Imola, Mick Schumacher had a rather unpleasant race weekend having spun twice in the Grand Prix. Haas team principal, Guenther Steiner reflected on his performance sayingIf you miss a little bit, you’re out of the points at the moment because the midfield is very, very close together. We had Kevin in the points in all of the races except one. So I think Mick will get there. But he needs a perfect weekend, otherwise you’re not ending up in points this year, because the competition is so intense in the midfield.”

The Haas team witnessed the arrival of Kevin Magnussen, replacing the Russian driver, Nikita Mazepin. Mick Schumacher elaborated on partnering up with the Dane by saying “It’s great, he’s got a lot of experience in Formula 1. Being able to compare myself to him and also just work with him is something which is very different compared to last year, but it’s very positive. So I’m very happy.”

Kevin Magnussen also spoke highly about his team mate by commenting “He’s not someone that makes excuses. He’s honest with the team. He’s honest with himself. And I think he’s very easy to work with. The team likes him. And he’s a great driver.”

The Haas team are all set to go racing on the streets of Miami. The team having had a strong start to the season, looks forward to building ahead on it by adding more points to their tally in their home race.
