Red Bull had a near-perfect on Sunday at Jeddah, as they secured a 1-2 finish at the Saudi Arabian GP on Sunday. Max Verstappen produced another perfect weekend by winning the race starting on the Pole, while his Mexican teammate Sergio Perez secured a P2 finish, 13.643 seconds behind the winner. But according to Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, VCARB driver Daniel Ricciardo could’ve ruined Perez’s solid day.
The former Red Bull driver, Daniel Ricciardo spun at lap 49 on a chicane but it wasn’t a big incident significant enough to wave a caution flag as was able to save the car from barriers. If the car was slammed into barriers there were chances that Red Flag could have been waived. Marko got worried after the Australian driver spun as he knew it would’ve ruined the race for Perez.
It was a good race by Perez. Thank God there was no Safety Car at the end of the race, because we were still afraid of that, Riccardo threatened to do it for a while. Otherwise we would have lost Perez's second place.Marko said (H&T: RacingXfinity).
Helmut Marko got a new job offer at the Saudi Arabian GP
Helmut Marko’s potential suspension as a Red Bull advisor surfaced during the Saudi Arabian GP and it appears that his future is secure for the time being. Nevertheless, negotiations are still scheduled to occur between Marko and the Thai majority shareholder of Red Bull, Chalerm Yoovidhya.
Toto Wolff had hinted that Mercedes might have room for Marko since the team has been without an older advisor since the passing of Formula One legend Niki Lauda. Marko commented on Wolff’s offer by appreciating his offer. But Marko stated that for the time being he is good at Red Bull itself.
That is very nice, but at the moment I can thankfully turn down this offer.Marko said.
Wolff then commented that it was a joke. Marko whose contract is yet to be finalised with Red Bull. The Austrian is very happy at the moment in Red Bull. But is struggling with sharing its powers with Christian Horner, the Team Principal.
