Lewis Hamilton, the former seven-time F1 world champion, has become the talk of the town since his sensational move to the Ferrari outfit from 2025 onward. A lot has been said about it and while people are still talking, the Red Bull team adviser, Helmut Marko, has also come forward to give his opinion on it.

Lewis Hamilton has taken the place of Carlos Sainz on the Maranello-based team and Helmut Marko believes that it is one of the best things that has happened in the sport for a long time. Hamilton’s move is being seen as one of the biggest off-track happenings in the sport over the last few decades.

While shedding light on the sensational switch with Sport.de, Marko recently said, as reported by Soymotor:

This is the best thing that could have happened to Formula 1 at the moment. The fascination with Ferrari and that Hamilton no longer trusts Mercedes. I think this transfer will put pressure on the friendly relationship between Wolff and Fred Vasseur. Wolff has always promoted Vasseur in Formula 1. And now this.

The 80-year-old veteran of F1 has made it quite clear that Hamilton’s 2025 move to Ferrari is a huge deal. Moreover, being the kind of personality that Marko is, he has also taken the time to take an indirect shot at the Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff, for letting the Brit go.

Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari will be in the limelight in 2024

While Lewis Hamilton will make his way to Maranello at the end of the 2024 F1 season, one has to remember that there are a total of 24 grand prix this year. During this period, a lot can happen that could affect Hamilton’s relationship with Mercedes and also the Fred Vasseur-led Ferrari outfit.

Mercedes and Ferrari are among the top teams in the sport, and it is almost inevitable that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will lock horns with Lewis Hamilton at some point during the upcoming season. Considering this, fireworks could go off which will increase the entertainment level of sport 10-folds.

However, it will be interesting to see what kind of an impact the 39-year-old’s on-track tussles with the Ferrari drivers will have on his relationship with the Italian team. Hamilton would ideally want to end his partnership with Mercedes on a positive note without hampering his relationship with next year’s employer, Ferrari.
