Pierre Gasly
Pierre Gasly has finally left the Red Bull family after competing in Formula 1 with the energy drinks manufacturer for six whole years. The Frenchman went on to join Alpine F1 team and replace outgoing driver Fernando Alonso. Gasly has departed from the team that gave him his F1 debut. However it has been a win win situation for both the parties as the 2023 season approaches us.
The French driver spent the first six years of his F1 career racing with the Red Bull family. As Pierre Gasly enters into his seventh season in the pinnacle of motorsport, he will he seen sporting new colours as he joins the French team. The story is almost magical as the French Alpine F1 team will have 2 drivers from the same beautiful country racing for them for the upcoming season.
However it seemed like it would have been an awkward conversation for Pierre Gasly to have with Red Bull boss Dr Helmut Marko after being an important member of the team for so long. That did not seem to be the case as the deal was a win win situation for both the parties with Red Bull getting their investment back and Alpine getting another French driver to make their lineup one of the most sought after for 2023.
Pierre Gasly and Red Bull both benefited from this move

While talking to Auto Motor und Sport , here is what Pierre Gasly said. “I knew Red Bull wanted to keep me, so I also knew it would not be an easy conversation with Helmut Marko. But luckily he understood how important this step was for me. I had a contract for 2023. The possibilities of getting out from under that seemed scarce. But you can always talk about it and find out what is possible,” he continued.
“It was an important change in my career,” Gasly said. “I think I fulfilled my role at Red Bull and AlphaTauri as well as I could over the past few years. Helmut recognised that and understood me,” Gasly said. The Frenchman also talked about his future with Alpine. This is where I want to be, and where I want to stay in the future. It’s a factory team; you know you will always get the best material from them,” he said.
Alpine seems to be in good hands for 2023 as Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon will be competing together to help the team reach greater heights. After having a stellar season in 2022, the French squad will be aiming to compete alongside the top 3 teams this season. With the Bahrain season opener not very far, it will be all to play for the boys in blue.
