“I fuc**d it, “Max Verstappen’s furious rant after losing pole position to Charles Leclerc in Miami

Max Verstappen

The first ever qualifying in the Miami Grand Prix has come to an end where Max Verstappen lost pole from Charles Leclerc by just 2-tenths of a second. Max qualified 3rd, ahead of Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Verstappen was able to set the provisional pole after getting into Q3, but as soon as the Ferraris were out, both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz set blistering laps, pushing the car to the maximum, rumbling, and rushing through the first two sectors. Carlos Sainz had the fastest two sectors but Leclerc managed to cover up in the rest two, making him the fastest, and setting Carlos on P2. Max Verstappen tried to set a final flying lap, but was unable to do so due to a poor start, and by the time the time had run out, giving him the final P3 for qualifying.

“To be that competitive in qualifying I was actually surprised. I think we did a really good job, but we have to start making the weekends a little less difficult,” said Verstappen; since he was unable to have proper practice sessions following Red Bull’s reliability issues, he stated that he was still trying to learn the track, “trying to find the decent balance for the car,” the Dutchman quoted in the post-qualifying interview.
