“I had a bit of a fan view,” Lewis Hamilton says he saw Verstappen-Leclerc battle while driving on the straights

Lewis, Charles, and, Max
Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc were at each other’s throats throughout the Austrian Grand Prix where the Monegasque was just able to come out trumps. Lewis Hamilton has recently shed light on their duel as he was running in third behind them.
After the first 10 rounds of the season, it is pretty evident that Ferrari and Red Bull are way ahead of the rest, and Hamilton who was 30 seconds behind Leclerc and Verstappen in Austria, has revealed that because he had a lonely second half of the race, he had the opportunity of looking at their battle on the big screens that were placed at key areas of the track.
The Brit while talking about their battle said, “I was a bit alone when I got behind these guys – the 37-year-old from Stevenage joked – they preceded me by about 30 seconds. I was watching their race on TV, along the straights I was looking at where they were. I could see them coming into turn 6 as I exited turn 1.“

“So I had a bit of a ‘fan’ view of everything that was happening. I’ve seen some of their overtaking. I think they also played replays and more. But after such a difficult weekend, with the accident and the monumental effort by the team to rebuild my car, this is a truly fantastic result. So I am very grateful.”

Charles Leclerc getting closer to Max Verstappen in the Driver’s Championship

Charles Leclerc in Austria took his third victory of the 2022 season and now has Max Verstappen in his catching range in the Drivers Championship.
The Monegasque after his exploits at the Red Bull Ring has leap-frogged Sergio Perez in the Championship and now has 170 points to his name. Max Verstappen who could only manage a second-place finish, missed out on some valuable points and now has got Leclerc right on his tail.
The Red Bull starlet is on 208 points after 10 rounds and is just 38 points ahead of Leclerc, moreover, given the unpredictable nature of reliability issues at both Ferrari and Red Bull, the championship is still wide open and anyone could get their hands on it between Leclerc and Verstappen.

The current season is 10 races down and with only 12 more races left, both teams cannot afford to slip up and it is going to be fascinating to see who among them would be able to get the bragging rights at the end of the season.
