Four time world champion Sebastian Vettel has been a humongous part of the sport ever since he joined it about 15 years ago. From being the most calm and fierce competitor, the Aston Martin driver has gone on to become the most wholesome and loved driver in the paddock. Which is one of the reasons it has become so hard for fans to digest the fact that he will be retiring from F1 at the end of this season.

After getting a full time seat in F1 with AlphaTauri (Formerly known as Scuderia Torro Rosso) Sebastian Vettel went on the impress the lot and score his and the team’s first win at the 2008 Italian GP at Monza. Later on he joined Red Bull’s main team and went on to win 4 back to back championships with them. This shows how fierce he was back in the day. What followed was a stint with Ferrari which was his idol Michael Schumacher’s old team.

The 4 time world champion talked about the current job at hand with respect to his team and their position in the standings. Here is what he said. “Over the last few races, we have really picked up some really strong results – so our challenge for sixth position in the Constructors’ Championship is looking more and more realistic. As I start my final three races in Formula One, I have lost none of my motivation and am looking to go out on a high. With the form we have shown recently, I think we should be able to make that happen.”

Sebastian Vettel is putting in some amazing performances this season having being dealt with a wrong car that doesn’t quite reflect on his abilities. With the team failing to meet his expectations, it is no surprise that Seb had to come to this decision. A driver like him deserves to drive at the front. Perhaps a return to the sport after a small break might be a possibility. Looking at Fernando Alonso, it seems like a good choice.
