“I never saw that kind of reaction,” Christian Horner takes a DIG at Toto Wolff for last season’s bitter rivalry

Red Bull and Christian Horner are absolutely acing this year’s season with 6 consecutive wins, 5 of them by Max Verstappen, the reigning World Champion. The only competitors Red Bull have got and are worried about are both the Ferraris as they made an amazing return this year after 2 years of struggle with the car. Ferrari have managed to keep up somewhat with the Bulls, if it wasn’t for the reliability issues and the cars DNFing, there would have been a very competitive environment between the teams, but we did see Ferrari and Red Bull battling hard on the track.

Although there is much environment between the teams like rivals do, it is nothing when compared to the rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes in 2021. Last year, after an extreme start from both the drivers and incidents involving both drivers taking each other out, the rivalry had outgrown enough, and the team principals, Wolff and Horner often clashed in the media, spewing venom in each other’s faces, as well as backs. After one of the most controversial seasons and races, Max Verstappen managed to win the World Championship, but the constructor’s championship went in the way of Mercedes because of their dominant engine last year.

Christian Horner defends himself about the last season.

Christian Horner, recently talking about the same rivalry, defended himself, as GPBlog quoted him; “To be honest with you, I just tried to stay true to our values, to keep our heads down and do the best job that we could,” Horner stated. “But you could see that it boiled over in the garage next door on a few occasions. That’s something I haven’t seen against another competitor. I’ve raced against Ross Brawn, Stefano Domenicali, Ron Dennis, Flavio Briatore, and I never, ever saw that kind of reaction.”
This season, however, Mercedes are struggling to score good after a major porpoising issue with their car, and Ferrari have taken their place. Anyways, much fingers are being pointed at Wolff as he had a clash with Mattia Binotto of Ferrari during a meeting, as reports suggest.
