Max Verstappen just like the rest of the F1 paddock is currently enjoying the summer break but has revealed that he is still doing simulator work in order to keep his reflexes sharp for the second leg of the 2022 F1 season.

Racing games over the years have become insanely realistic and play an important part in the real motorsports world. The importance was very much highlighted during the Covid pandemic when people were stuck in their homes and fans were able to follow drivers like Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and, Alex Albon in virtual races.

For the F1 drivers, virtual races have become very useful to maintain their skills at a high level and also to make sure that they are able to hit the ground running straightaway when they get into real-world F1 cars.

It is hard for racing drivers to keep their hands off the wheel and the same goes for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman while talking about the sim work that he does has said,It’s becoming more and more professional where it’s the same in real life.”

Moreover, simulator work is not child’s play as there are many things that a driver has to take care of. The 24-year-old believes virtual racing games these days include everything that goes on during race weekends and has admitted that it is a good way to not lose focus during longer breaks in F1.

Verstappen has further added, “For me, it’s like, I never really switch off in a way once I stop racing F1 and I am in my off-season. I still do the same things. I do pit stops and overtakes. I have to defend. I do long endurance races with teammates. So once I jump back in the F1 car, it feels like I never left,”

Max Verstappen has revealed his mantra of success and given how unpredictable the sport has become in recent years, all a driver can do is give his 100 percent, and that is exactly what the Dutchman does whenever he gets behind the wheel of the RB18.

There are still 9 races left in the 2022 F1 season and after the summer break, the prolific Dutchman would be looking to maintain or further extend his 80 points lead over Leclerc.

Will Max be able to fend off the challenge of Charles Leclerc and Ferrari during the second leg of the 2022 F1 season?
