Lewis and Max

Lewis Hamilton the Mercedes team driver after finishing qualifying in P5 has delved into the “boos” that Max Verstappen has been getting ever since stepping foot in Silverstone.

Lewis Hamilton was told about the boos that Max got after qualifying and the Brit was not happy with it and indicated that it is not what the British fans are all about and has urged the fans to back off a bit when it comes to Max Verstappen.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were engaged in an enthralling battle last season that ended under extremely controversial circumstances and it is believed that last season’s outcome has not gone down well with Lewis Hamilton fans and it is probably the main reason behind Verstappen getting booed left, right, and, center.

The incessant boos disappointed Hamilton and while talking about the behavior of fans toward the Dutchman, Hamilton said, “I think we’re better than that.”

Max Verstappen

I would say we don’t need to do booing, We’ve got such great fans, our sporting fans, they feel emotions up and down. But I definitely don’t agree with booing.”

I don’t think we need to do that. We should be here, pushing everybody. Doesn’t make any difference when you boo somebody – they’ve already made the mistake or whatever it is, so…

But I really do appreciate the support that I have here. And maybe some of them are feeling the pain from last year, still.

Lewis Hamilton has applauded the British fans for the emotions and charisma that they bring on to the track but has at the same time asked them to stop with their booing as he feels it is wrong.

Lewis Hamilton has got every chance of finishing on the podium in Silverstone

Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton after today’s P5 finish has got every chance of finishing on the podium in Silverstone and tomorrow it is all going to be about getting off to a good start and making up a few places during the early exchanges of the race.

Once the race settles down it gets a bit difficult to overtake and Hamilton being the “homeboy” would be looking to put on a show for his die-hard fans and ideally would want to get on the podium.

Ferrari and Red Bull

However, ahead of him, he has got the two Red Bull and Ferrari’s who are not an easy nut to crack and it will be interesting to see the strategy that Mercedes are going to come up with so that the Brit would be able to get the better of the pacey Red bull and Ferrari F1 team.
