Lewis Hamilton is delighted with his performance and has after the race indicated that he did not see a podium coming his way at the start of the Canadian adventure on Friday.

The Brit is understandably overjoyed with his efforts given the problems the Brackley-based Mercedes team faced leading up to the race.

Hamilton after the race while discussing his podium finish said, “I could just about see them at the end. Our pace was good especially at the end. I’m ecstatic. Didn’t expect it at the start of the weekend.”

The Brit has clearly indicated that he was just able to make it on the old sets of tires that he was on and feels that had the race had run for a little longer he would not have been able to hold position and keep his teammate Russell behind who came in fourth.

Lewis after the Canadian GP sounded like an upbeat man and while delving deeper into what the team has gone through this season, said, “It’s quite overwhelming to get this third place. There has been such a battle this year with the car and as a team, but we continue to stay vigilant and never give up.”

Lewis Hamilton has stressed the fact how difficult it has been for the team to not lose its bearings after a tough start to the season and after his podium finish has asked the team to stay focused and keep doing the best they can with the car so that the team continues improving.

After the race, the Brit has thanked his team for their tireless efforts during the Canadian weekend to give him a competitive car under him and has said, “That is something I am so proud of and I am inspired by my crew. So, thank you to everyone here and back at the factory.”

Hamilton believes that he is in debt to the crew that he has got and feels that they are the reason which keeps him motivated and to give his best every time he gets behind the wheel of the W13.
