Lewis Hamilton was shocked seeing the reaction of the Fans, specially Max Verstappen fans, after the crash he had yesterday. Lewis ended up for P9 for the Sprint race today, after a drivers mistake he committed in Q3. Hamilton crashed his car, taking his car on the gravel and ended up in the walls, retiring early from the final session of the Friday’s Qualifying. He mentioned not instantly getting the reaction by the fans, but later on went down hearing it in the reply.

Things go back to Silverstone, where Max Verstappen had a 360° spin that heard cheers for the fan, not because of his skills but for the mistakes he did throughout. He was continuously booed everytime he came under the lights. To which later Lewis issued his statement, “We’re better than that”.

Austrian weekend got the tables turned with Lewis getting booed which wasn’t an ideal scenario, the 7 time world champion was booed after crash to which he said, “A driver could have been in hospital. And you’re going to cheer that? I mean, it’s just mind-blowing that people will do that, just knowing how dangerous our sport is.”

And I’m grateful that I wasn’t in hospital, and I wasn’t heavily injured, but you should never cheer someone’s downfall or someone’s injury or crash. It shouldn’t have happened in Silverstone, even though it wasn’t obviously a crash, and it shouldn’t have happened here, “ Lewis said.

Lewis finished P8 in the Sprint race, after a poor start that took him on P11. But he managed some quick overtake that ended him a position over his previous best. He got entangled on turn 1 with Pierre Gasly and turn 3 with Sergio Perez, that damaged his car for a part but was still drivable.

“I just got a bit of wheelspin, and was under attack from the cars around me.And then Pierre just moved over on me, so I had nowhere to go, “ he said.

“Same thing, so lucky. I’m just grateful to have finished, and I managed to get one point!” He said regarding turn 3 incident with Sergio Perez.

“it definitely wasn’t the same as this morning, but it was drivable. Something’s wrong with the steering,” Hamilton revealed, Motorsport quoted.

Lewis also had a fantastic fight with Mick Schumacher for the 8th position, that he almost won in the end laps of the 100Km race.
