“I’m mostly impressed with Adrian Newey,” Lewis Hamilton credits Adrian Newey’s design for Max Verstappen’s success in the 2022 season

Lewis Hamilton understands the importance of Red Bull’s Aerodynamics head, Adrian Newey. Adrian is considered a wizard of Aerodynamics and he has proved his worth everywhere he has been. Red Bull could always thank him for not ruining their chances for a win with Adrian in the team. The four titles this drinking team has won could be thanked Newey for his magic to turn it into a racing team.
Lewis Hamilton obstructed Red Bull as a drinking team years ago but eventually had to turn his thoughts after the 2022 season. Adrian Newey could be considered the greatest of all time with 12 championships in his hand. He has won titles with Williams and McLaren in his past but eventually turned to Red Bull in 2006 and won them the four titles the team deserved.
The 2022 season, in Hamilton’s thoughts, is also thanks to Adrian and not Max Verstappen, “Am I impressed with Verstappen’s speed? I’m most impressed with Adrian Newey and his team. I think it’s a great team, making great cars. They did an incredible job and everything I have said in the past about the team was not in a bad way,” said Lewis.
” I think I said years ago that it was a beverage company, pointing out that they would have bet more on an auto company, but they proved to me and everyone else they were wrong,” understands Lewis.
Max Verstappen counters Lewis Hamilton’s opinions
Lewis Hamilton mentioned Adrian as a key member of the championship, and Max Verstappen countered him by mentioning the dominant days of Lewis himself. Hamilton has been dominating the sport for a while, and that too could be credited to the car he has been given yearly. Max mentioned the performance a driver shows outside the limitations of the car by beating his own teammate.
“A lot in F1 is down to the team and the car, of course, it’s also the way Lewis won his championships. That’s the way it is in Formula 1. The car is very important, but I believe that when you are an exceptional driver, as obviously Lewis is, you make a difference compared to your teammate. Champions make the difference compared to other fast drivers, but not as good. So, yes, the car is very dominant in Formula 1, but of course among the teammates, only one can win, and that’s where you have to make the difference”, in the words of Max Verstappen.
Max Verstappen is domiananting this season with 10 out of the 15 wins. He is 109 points ahead of Charles in the championship and could more or less take a break from the pressure of the title. Italy being next, Max has never won a race in Monza and will look to get himself on the top there.
