“I’m staying in Formula 1 with McLaren”: Daniel Ricciardo blasts every single rumor about his future in F1

Daniel Ricciardo
There have been plenty talks about Daniel Ricciardo’s future in Formula 1, seeing that the Australian racer has not fared that well in the Championship as he was expected to do. With Lando Norris as his teammate, Daniel Ricciardo joined McLaren at the end of 2021 after his exit from Renault, but many F1 pundits have argued that that was a bad career move for him. In McLaren, Ricciardo, who was placed fifth in the World Championship in 2020, fell to the 8th spot in 2021 and as of now, the Perth native is down in the 12th position with only 19 points to his name.
Ricciardo’s slew of performances which were below-expectations led many F1 fans to believe that it is the end of the Formula 1 journey for the 33-year-old, and that he will be leaving McLaren and thus the sport in 2023 to pursue a career in IndyCar or some other league. There have also been instances where the McLaren executives like Zak Brown have displayed their disappointment in Ricciardo’s lack of a good performance and this only strengthened the points of all those who said Daniel Ricciardo would not be getting a seat in McLaren next year.
But now, the Honey Badger has put every speculation about his F1 future to rest after confirming that McLaren is retaining him for the next year. He also assured all his fans that if he gets his hands on a Championship-winning car next year, he will be back to being in the lead of the grid.
Daniel Ricciardo puts all assumptions about his F1 career to rest with a bold statement

Only a few races into the 2022 F1 World Championship, the rumors started flying that Daniel Ricciardo is struggling in McLaren and the executives have decided to terminate his contract and appoint a new racer for 2023. Some of them even said that Daniel might technically be staying in McLaren but not in Formula 1 as the Woking-based team has an IndyCar branch and Daniel might shift to that in the next year. But now, Daniel Ricciardo has put to rest all the concerns about his career by confirming that he is indeed staying in the McLaren F1 racing team post 2022.
Daniel Ricciardo said in a recent interview, “It’s one of those situations in which the more people talk, the more the story mounts and everyone puts something of him into it. For this reason, before the French Grand Prix I wanted to make things clear, I know my future and I wanted to make an official statement to say: I’m staying in Formula 1 with McLaren.”
Q: So will you be at the start of the next Formula 1 championship at the wheel of McLaren?
