Max Verstappen has dominated Formula 1 this year. The three-time world champion has won a record-breaking eighteen races in the 2023 season. The Dutch driver will be looking to bag another win at the season finale in Abu Dhabi. However, before the race, Verstappen received a special gift from Indian Cricket star Shreyas Iyer.
Iyer was part of India’s 2023 Men’s World Cup squad. Unfortunately, India lost the final to Australia. Shreyas Iyer was put on rest following the tournament as he decided to attend the Abu Dhabi GP this weekend. A picture surfaced on X showing the Indian cricketer giving his jersey to Max Verstappen. Shreyas Iyer’s name is written on the jersey with his number 96.
The Dutch driver was delighted to get this precious gift from another sporting star. Certainly, it seems that Shreyas Iyer is a Verstappen fan as the pinnacle of motorsport continues to gain new followers across the world.
Earlier this weekend, McLaren driver Oscar Piastri was spotted wearing Ex-Australian Cricketer Brett Lee’s title-winning jersey from 2003.

Max Verstappen remains the favorite for the 2023 F1 season finale
The three-time world champion has managed to outperform the entire grid this season. As such, it is no surprise that Verstappen would be looking to end the year on a high note with a victory at the Abu Dhabi GP. However, heading into the weekend, many expected that Red Bull could face stiff competition for the season finale.
Nevertheless, Max Verstappen has continued his dominant run. The Dutch driver comfortably took pole position for the final race of the season. So much so, that Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner won a bet against Red Bull Motorsport Consultant Dr. Helmut Marko over Verstappen’s starting position for Sunday’s race.
Certainly, the 26-year-old would be aiming to clinch another victory at the Yas Marina Circuit. Max Verstappen has shown impressive pace this weekend and is expected to stay ahead of rivals such as Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri. Although, it remains to be seen if the three-time world champion can bring home another race victory for Milton Keynes.
