“It is all speculation”: Spa-Francorchamps Director dismisses claims that the Circuit will not appear in the F1 2023 calendar

There is always some assumption or the other when it comes to the F1 Calendar for the next season or the F1 team drivers next season, and it seems that there is a new report coming up that states that Spa-Francorchamps is not present in the draft calendar of F1 2023 that is being circulated among the teams. The absence of the Belgian race track from the Formula 1 calendar has made many of the motorsports enthusiasts upset as the Belgian Grand Prix is one of the most anticipated races for many fans.

But with a new ray of hope, it has been revealed that the Spa-Francorchamps organisation has denied all claims of the existence of a draft calendar and they have also said that there has not been any concrete decision about the fact that the 2023 F2 calendar will not feature the Belgian Grand Prix.

Spa-Francorchamps Director says there are still negotiations to be made

The Director of the organisation of Spa-Francorchamps, Vanessa Maes, has now responded to the claims that have been doing the rounds in the motorsport world for quite some time, that state the Belgian Grand Prix will not be held in Spa from 2023 onwards. Maes dismissed all the rumours while speaking in an interview with a Belgian media outlet.

While discussing the fate of the Belgian GP, held every year in Spa-Francorchamps, Director Vanessa Maes talked about the fact that Spa is absent from the rumored draft calendar for 2023 that the F1 teams have received. She said, “I have made enquiries and have been assured by the FIA that there is no draft calendar circulating among the teams at the moment. It is all speculation.”

She also said, “There is a lot of discussion, that’s for sure. We are at the end of our contract, as are Monaco and Le Castellet and we are still negotiating an extension.”
