“It will be difficult for him to do well,” Nico Rosberg comes up with damaging verdict on Oscar Pastri’s future at McLaren

Oscar Piastri, after ditching Alpine, is going to drive for the McLaren Formula One team during the 2023 season, and 2016 World Champion, Nico Rosberg has claimed that it will be challenging for the young Australian to go up against Lando Norris.
In 2023, McLaren will have the youngest driver line up on the grid in the form of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, however, while the Brit is going to be in his fifth season in the sport next year, the 21-year will be making in his debut season.
Nico Rosberg feels that the Woking-based team’s current driver, Daniel Ricciardo did not all of a sudden forget how to drive fast since making his switch to the team, and believes the same could be the fate of Piastri when he would have to try and match the prolific Norris behind the wheel of the McLaren livery.
Roberg views Piastri as having a tough time against Norris next season and while talking about it said, “It will be difficult for Oscar to do well there. Lando is a world-class driver and has the qualities to become world champion, so it will not be easy to do better than Daniel.”
“Ricciardo is a multiple race winner, one of the best drivers in the world and yet he had all the trouble in the world against Lando. Oscar is brand new to this sport!”
“Everything indicates that Oscar is one of the future superstars. But I don’t really believe that suddenly Ricciardo forgot how to drive fast.”
“I actually think Lando is performing at a world champion level right now, he’s riding incredibly well. So it will be a very, very big challenge for Oscar to be close to Lando next year.”

Nico Rosberg approves of Oscar Piastri’s choice of leaving Alpine for McLaren
Oscar Piastri during the summer break made Alpine and the F1 paddock go into utter shock when he denied the French team’s claim of having him on board for the 2023 season in place of Fernando Alonso.
Since then, a lot has been said between the two parties, and after all the back-and-forth tussle at the CRB, the Australian is finally going to get his wish fulfilled in 2023.
Nico Rosberg while backing Piastri for his brave decision added, “It’s a brave choice on Oscar’s part, really. Concretely, either he beats Lando or he will end up outside the sport. So it will be very, very difficult, but he believes in him. And if you are convinced you’re so good, then you have to give it your all.”
“If you are a young driver and you have the opportunity to drive for McLaren, and you are allowed to do so, then you have to take it. Opportunities like this don’t come along every day, so he did this. who should have.”
The former Mercedes man believes that Piastri made the right decision for himself, considering the confidence that the young lad has in his abilities as a racing driver.
However, F1 is a whole other ball game where the very best have succumbed to the pressure in previous years, would Oscar be able to take the fight to his future teammate, Lando Norris next year?
