“It’s a real challenge for the cars,” Yuki Tsunoda eyes for a strong weekend in Barcelona
Formula 1 heads to Barcelona for the sixth round of the 2022 campaign. This is the second time the sport heads to Spain this year, as the first pre-season test was hosted at this track. The Spanish GP has been a constant on the Formula 1 calendar for numerous years and for the last 5 years has been won by Lewis Hamilton.
This event will provide each constructor with an opportunity to compare their pre-season data with the current one. It helps them track their progress in the season so far. The Alpha Tauri camp walk into the Grand Prix with high confidence levels. The driver lineup for the team is formed by Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda. The Frenchman expects great duels in the midfield with limited overtaking opportunities at the Spanish GP.

Yuki Tsunoda eyeing a strong result at the Spanish GP
Ahead of the weekend, the driver who celebrated his 22nd birthday last week, Yuki Tsunoda has his confidence levels high. He expressed his viewpoint by saying “It’s one of the European circuits I know best. In 2020, I finished fourth in both the sprint and the Feature Race in Formula 2 . It’s a technical circuit with a wide range of different types of corners. It’s a real challenge for the cars.”
With the new rules and regulation, the mid field has been really close this season. This has provided great racing action on track and some great overtaking spectacles. This did not hinder the Japanese driver’s faith as he said “I think we can make progress in Barcelona. Hopefully we’ll have a good result and get points, but I don’t expect it to be easy.”
The Alpha Tauri currently stands in P7 in the constructors world championship. The team have two really promising talents in their ranks who would push flat out to score the maximum points for the Italian constructor at Barcelona.
