“It’s more of a Red Bull track,” Juan Pablo Montoya places his bet on Max Verstappen to win the Monaco GP
Max Verstappen wins Monaco GP 2021
Max Verstappen has made it a habit of winning every race that he has finished this season. The Dutch man already has 4 wins in the first 6 races of the season with the last one coming in Spain. We all can say that this was the race when he was tested to the limit. Whether it was his issues with the DRS flap or his mistake going into turn 4, Max had to fight through adversity to win the Spanish GP.
Obviously, he had the slice of luck with Charles Leclerc retiring out of the race due to power related issue but the reigning world champion grabbed that opportunity with both hands. Now, Max Verstappen would want to take the positives from Spain and focus on the upcoming Monaco GP. The street in circuit in Monaco will pose a lot of questions to both the team.
We know that Ferrari has an edge over the Red Bull in the fast and the medium corners but Red Bull noses out in front in straight line speed and very slow corners. This might give Red Bull and Max Verstappen a better chance to win the race because of the layout of the Monaco circuit. Max Verstappen will also have a psychological advantage keeping in mind Charles Leclerc’s crashes in the last few Monaco GPs.
Max Verstappen is the clear favorite to get another one over Charles Leclerc in Monaco, according to Juan Pablo Montoya
Juan Pablo Montoya also has put his money on Max Verstappen to get the job done in Monaco. In a recent interview, he said, ”My money is on Max. You know, it would be nice for Charles and for the F1 championship to get closer with a Ferrari win. But you got to say that Red Bull is more complete as a team.
“They execute better, they do a better job with everything. ”Ferrari has got a lot of pace and we’ll see how good it is around Monaco. Because I think in the slow speed corners you can say that the Red Bull looks a little better.”
“So, if I had to say it, I would say it’s probably more of a Red Bull track than a Ferrari track,” as reported by gpblog.
Red Bull and Max Verstappen will have a slight edge going into this Monaco GP but if Charles Leclerc can produce some magic in Saturday’s qualifying, it can be a pretty even affair.
