However, his outing was not straightforward as Lewis Hamilton got into a scrap with his arch-rival, Max Verstappen during the initial phase of the race and while dwelling upon it after his outing, indicated that the Dutchman’s over-aggressive approach stems from his success.

During the current campaign, the dynamic duo hasn’t met on track as often as they met in 2021, but at the Sao Paulo GP, the duo got their hands dirty immediately after the safety car restart got underway.

While going into Turn1, Verstappen dived on the outside of Hamilton before the latter closed the door going into Turn2, and for the collision, the Dutchman was given a 5-seconds time penalty.

Max Verstappen was a bit bemused after knowing about the penalty, as in his opinion, he was not left enough space and should not have received the penalty.

Lewis Hamilton after having an eventful outing at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix was asked, during the post-race press conference to dwell upon his tussle with Max Verstappen.

More specifically, Phil Duncan(Journalist) asked Hamilton whether he feels that Verstappen, who has not had many incidents this year, immediately got into a scrap when it came to going wheel to wheel with him.

As a response to the query, Hamilton added, “I’m not worried about that. I think it is logical that with success and so many numbers (titles) to your name, you become a certain target. That’s no big deal. It’s nothing new for me.”

The Brit has made it clear that he does not bother himself with thinking about Verstappen’s on-track antics, as in his opinion, he has always been a target in F1 and it is not anything new to him.

While Hamilton had quite a lot to say about his crash with Verstappen, the latter also did not back down and indicated that the Mercedes starlet still hasn’t forgotten about what happened last year.

Considering how the duo is always at each other’s throats, be it on track or off it, one thing that can be said for certain is the fact that, they will never be the best of friends.
