“It’s up to me…to prove them wrong”: Daniel Ricciardo sends a blazing message to those who doubt his present form

McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo
32-year-old Daniel Ricciardo has spent a fulfilling decade in Formula 1, and is one of the most skilled and experienced racers on the grid. Recruited into the Red Bull Junior Team, the Australian from Perth made his way into the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team in 2014, and delivered amazing performance as a part of the Milton-Keynnes-based outfit. In only his debut year at Red Bull, he managed to get 3 Grand Prix victories, and was placed third in the F1 World Championship, after the two Mercedes racers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
While all the F1 pundits were of the opinion that Daniel Ricciardo would achieve much greater feats and might even become the World Some day, his troubles allegedly arrived in the form of Max Verstappen who joined Red Bull in 2016. As both of them were so talented at the sport, they had a fierce competition that affected Daniel’s races in 2018. His results were hampered time and again due to reliability issues, and he decided to finally leave the team for Renault in 2019.
Ever since leaving Red Bull, Daniel could never get back into his previous form, much to the disappointment of his millions of fans. The racer changed teams again in 2021 as he joined Lando Norris in McLaren. Even there, he could only get one race win throughout the season–a performance that the F1 pundits never expected from him. Finally, in 2022, Daniel was thought to shine through as he had already survived his debut year in a new car, and should have beenore comfortable with it by now. But unfortunately, that was never the case.

Even in 2022, Daniel seems to be performing abysmally as his teammate Lando Norris has outscored him in all the eight races that have happened till now. Even in Monaco, where he had previously won a thunderous Grand Prix in 2018 in his last year with Red Bull, the Australian could not impress his fans as he finished out of the points, in the 13th place.
Now, the F1 pundits, who once backed Daniel for becoming the next World Champion, are of the opinion that his career has hit an all-time low, and soon he would be out of F1 as well. As a reply to this, Daniel said, “You are always going to get people saying this and that. It is what it is. It’s up to me in the car to prove them wrong.”
Daniel has further mentioned, “But no one’s going to get into me more than myself as well, so someone telling me that I need to pull my finger out is not going to change me because if they are telling me to pull my finger out then I’m telling myself much more.”
