Lando Norris, the McLaren F1 driver, has recently made it known that, according to him, he is the best driver on the current F1 grid.
Lando Norris is having yet another strong season for the Woking-based team, and after 18 rounds, has managed to amass over 100 points in his MCL36.
However, despite being the best among the rest in F1 this year, he has made his intention clear that he wants to fight with the bigger teams on the grid.
The 22-year-old was recently asked whether he could beat Lewis Hamilton in the same machinery, and while answering the query Norris said, “It’s a tough question… I’ve got to say yes. By no means would it be easy, but if you want to do well, you’ve got to believe you’re better than the rest.”
Norris in no way has indicated that he is better than Hamilton but in general, terminology made it known that one has to believe that they are the best if one wants to achieve big things in the sport.
Lando Norris has a contract at McLaren until 2025
Lando Norris since joining the McLaren F1 team has performed consistently year after year, and in recent times, has managed to cement his place on the papaya-colored team.
Even when Daniel Ricciardo joined McLaren in 2021, the Brit did not get bogged down by the challenge, but rather was able to further up his game, and has so far outperformed his more experienced teammate.
Daniel is on his way out at the end of the current campaign, and considering that the young Oscar Piastri is going to be Norris’s teammate next season, the Brit will be the hands-down leader of the team.
Lando has a contract with McLaren until the end of the 2025 F1 season and the mantle of carrying the team further toward the north end of the grid is going to be on him.
Lando, so far in his career, has shown that he has the caliber to fight it out with the heavy hitters of the sport, and if McLaren is somehow able to come up with a package that’s worthy of fighting for race wins in the coming years, would the Brit be able to go up against the lights of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton on a regular basis?
