It has been 2 years since the controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi GP, where Max Verstappen clinched his inaugural championship edging out his title Lewis Hamilton in a breathtaking finale. On account of the race’s 2nd anniversary, Max’s father, Jos Verstappen sheds on the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP, says he can imagine how Mercedes felt.

A late crash triggered a safety car, prompting Verstappen to pit for fresh tires. The race then director, Michael Masi’s decision to restart on the last lap, unlapping only a few cars, created a tense showdown.
