At the start of the 2021 season, the Renault F1 team entered the game in a completely new form as Alpine. They recruited former F1 Champion Fernando Alonso to replace Daniel Ricciardo as Esteban Ocon’s teammate. And the French team has advanced a lot over the next few years to get into a close fight with McLaren for P4 in the World Championship. And then, as 2023 rolled in, they took up Pierre Gasly as Alonso left the Enstone squad for a seat at Aston Martin.

In June, 2023, the parent group governing Alpine–Renault–announced that they would be selling their 24% stake at the team. They valued the whole F1 squad at €900 million while they put a €200 million price on their share. The consortium that would be entering F1 as the new owners of Alpine include the Otro Capital, RedBird Capital Partners and Maximum Efforts Investments. And with Maximum Efforts, Hollywood hunk Ryan Reynolds is on his way to snatch the ownership of the French team.

On the other hand, Otro Capital has revealed the famous names associated with it. It appears that the investment firm has been built by the who’s-who of the sports world for the £200m buy-in of Alpine. The owners of Alpine include golf superstar Rory McIlroy, Olympic gold medallist boxer and two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua plus ex-Chelsea and Manchester United player Mata. Accompanying those principal investors are Kansas City Chiefs player Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, who is now all-too-famous as popstar Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.

Alexander-Arnold is a seemingly new face in the motorsports world. But the Briton has already become a fan of Formula One. He also said at the British GP, “Having been to Formula 1 races as a fan, I love the high-pressure environment of the paddock and I’ve seen firsthand how incredibly impressive the Alpine team is.”

Meanwhile Travis Kelce is a two-time SuperBowl winner who has recently made the headlines for his relationship with Taylor Swift. Before being seen out and about with Kelce, Swift was rumored to be going out with Fernando Alonso. But those tumors only rested when Taylor’s new relationship was confirmed as she was seen visiting restaurants holding hands with Travis.
